The first "Rock ,
Blues and Brews" event for Cystic Fibrosis took place on Saturday November 1 at
the well known Sticky Fingers Bar and Restaurant on Essa Road and Barrie.
Bar owner Gary kindly offered up his location for an afternoon of music and
fundraising for the Toronto Chapter of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Barrie Kinsmen once again partnered with the ORyan Project to create
another successful event raising $3500. Local band "Whos
Callin The Shots "- whose members all have a special connection to The
ORyan Project - played a variety of music which entertained an enthusiastic
sell out crowd. Patrons enjoyed great music and great food on a really fun
Saturday afternoon. There have been many requests for a repeat of this event so
watch for Rock, Blues and Brews Two coming this spring. Special thanks are
extended to Northern Electronic Services for their generous donation of a flat
screen TV for a raffle prize and to the owner of Sticky Fingers for donating
10% of his sales that afternoon back to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation. Thank you also to our talented band members Roy Lazazzera
( Ryans Father) on lead guitar, Joe Lazazzera ( Ryans Uncle) on bass guitar and
of course my co-chair of The ORyan Project and my husband the drummer Jeremy
Pollard
Patricia Phillips & Jeremy Pollard co-chairs of The
ORyan Project accept a cheque from Bar Manager Karen at Sticky Fingers for
10% of the sales from Rock, Blues & Brews.
